THE EXTENDED FLUTE

Workshop with Eliza Shephard

APPLICATION FORM

Eliza Shephard presents The Extended Flute – an exploration into sound worlds, physicality, and improvisation.

Breaking the myth that extended techniques are “only for advanced players”, this course dives into the many sonic benefits of including extended techniques into practice at all levels of learning to reap the multitude of benefits produced by their inclusion.

Traversing air techniques, percussive elements, and improvisation, you will skip away from this course with a deeper understanding of the sonic abilities of the flute, and a new appreciation and way of thinking about standard flute playing and contemporary approaches.
